Feel the history of Tara throughout your stay.

The name Tara was first recorded on 25 March 1852, when it was given to a pastoral run—believed to be inspired by the Hill of Tara in County Meath, Ireland.

From its beginnings, the area has been shaped by agriculture and a deep connection to the land.

The town of Tara lies at the heart of this rich farming district, surrounded by productive rural country that has supported generations of grazing and agricultural enterprise. This enduring pastoral landscape continues to define the character of the region and its close-knit rural community.

Today, the wider Tara locality is home to approximately 1,980 people (2021 Census), many of whom maintain strong ties to the area’s agricultural traditions.
